John was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He started playing violin at age six. He also played in the St. Louis Philharmonic in high school. He is the bassist on Angel of the Morning by Juice Newton and he has also played with Elvis, Dolly Parton, The Righteous Brothers, Jose Feliciano, Seals and Crofts, Fabian, The Rivingtons, Big Daddy, John Davidson, LeeAnn Rymes and Brian Setzer. He loves to tinker in his workshop, preach at his church and sail on the ocean.
